“The things you think about determine the quality of your mind. Your soul takes on the color of your thoughts.” ~ Marcus Aurelius
Marcus Aurelius was the most powerful man on the planet. His choices mattered greatly, and his private journal shows how often he was concerned with the quality of his thoughts. Marcus understood his choices were colored by his thinking (perspective), and he challenged his perspectives every day.
In his book, Man’s Search for Meaning, Viktor Frankl wrote “Everything can be taken from a [person] but one thing… to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” Perhaps the most important choice you make is the attitude you take.
The simple truth is whatever you choose is your choice. Viktor Frankl concluded that you can’t always control what happens to you, but you can choose your attitude. Attitudes have a way of shading your thoughts to either reveal or conceal the options you have to choose from.
Experience moving forward today. Examine your attitude toward a decision. Is it revealing or concealing the right choice to make?
