MVG FWD Through Valleys
If you’ve ever climbed a mountain, once you get above the treeline you notice how few things grow at the top of a mountain. All growth happens in the valley. No matter how old you are or how successful you are, you will encounter valleys that are tougher than others, and it’s in these valleys you have the most potential for growth.
It’s also in these valleys you have a higher likelihood to feel trapped, stuck, or hopeless. The feeling of personal autonomy at the top of the mountain is suddenly stunted by busy schedules, impossible tasks lists, and unrealistic expectations. These are the times you most likely start to question yourself: “What am I doing?”, “Who am I?”, “Why is this so hard?”
At Experience Moving Forward, the MVG FWD reframe-work is at the center of coaching clients through any of life’s tough spots. It starts by creating a baseline understanding of how you’re wired (personality), what motivates you (work genius), and what makes you unique (gifts). The goal here is to give you real, tangible language to remind you of the answers to those questions.
Next, we layer a clear understanding of your core values, a list of words to describe work you actually enjoy doing, and the dreams you have for the future (vision). These represent what is important to you regardless of current circumstances, acting like a compass so that when the storms come, you can discern which path will help you grow while staying true to yourself.
You can begin this journey on your own by visiting the Experience Moving Forward resource page. The page has a list of online assessment tools, books you need to read, and an example of how these tools map into the MVG FWD reframe-work. The time you invest in yourself will help you to experience moving forward no matter what life throws at you.
