MVG FWD Begins With Leadership

“The toughest person to lead is always yourself.” ~ John C. Maxwell

“You never graduate from the school of self-awareness.” ~ Steve Cochram

Leadership isn’t just about guiding others. It begins with leading yourself. To lead yourself, you must know yourself. Embracing (holding close) and endorsing (approving publicly) who you are; your uniqueness. Leading yourself requires you to take responsibility for your actions and your attitudes, and that starts with a deep understanding of your design (nature), your experiences (nurture), and your choices (notions).

The MVG FWD reframe-work gives you language to describe your unique wiring, expertise, and talents. It’s a tool for knowing yourself better so you can lead yourself better. Think of the energy you’ll save (and have for others) when you no longer need to search for yourself in any given situation because you possess that knowledge at a deep, personal level in your heart.

Don’t accept a casual description of who you are using buzzwords, unclear language, or emotions. As you experience life, you experience change which means knowing who you are is a journey, not a destination. Start with these online assessments. Each will help you build a library of words and concepts to more fully describe you.

Increasing self-awareness increases awareness of others. When you lead yourself well, you inspire those around you. That’s what leadership is all about. Inspiring yourself and others to rise to their full potential. As Solomon wrote in Proverbs, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

To experience moving forward, start with leading yourself forward.
