Every Moment is the Moment

When you live in the present moment, every moment is the moment. The moment full of potential. When you live in the past or what could happen in the future, you simply miss the full potential of now. What choices are you making that are anchored in the past or placing bets on tomorrow?

In Martin Luther King Jr.’s last speech he said “I may not get there with you.” He was killed less than twenty-four hours later. MLK’s impact on the world is undeniable and his intention was unmistakable. He lived in the moment. Focusing his words and actions to the moment.

In that same speech, he talked about wanting to live a long life. It’s not that MLK didn’t have a vision for the future. It’s that he didn’t let that vision stop him from doing what he could in the moment. Imagine if he had. Imagine the kind of world you would live in without the influence and the mark left by Martin Luther King Jr.

The only way to know the right moment is to live in every moment. To be open to the opportunities and potential each moment brings with it. To discern when it is time to act and when it is time to rest. As your life continues to unfold, let your potential unfold in every single moment.
