Low Section of Man Against Sky

To experience moving forward, takes work. Like diet and exercising, what you put in will determine what you get out. Today, focus on your perspective patterns blocking you. Start with these:

  • You have the time. Saying you don’t is always an excuse.
  • You are worth the effort. No one else will do it for you.
  • You can let go. Leave the past where it belongs

Okay, now that you have the time and the inclination, what are the perspective patterns in your life that need a hard review. Don’t accept them. Own them. Remember, whatever you’re not changing, you’re choosing.

Spend some time writing out a list of relationships or situations you are not happy in or with. As you think through them, pay attention to the language you use inside your head and try to capture them word for word on paper. Next ask yourself, how can I edit these so my perspective empowers me to move forward?

IRL Example:

  • OLD: Ever since the accident, it’s impossible for me to enjoy playing the piano like I once did.
  • NEW: Even though it will feel different, I can enjoy playing the piano and learning how to adapt my style and abilities.

The point of this exercise is to highlight how much control you have over each item on your list by intentionally engaging in the story you’re telling yourself and uncovering the perspective that will set you free

It’s time to break your perspective patterns to experience moving forward.
