Moving Forward. Which way is forward? There are so many paths we can choose, so many options on how we are going to spend our time. For where we have put our energy and where we want to continue to put our energy. So which direction is forward?
It’s an honest question and the honest answer is the direction moving forward takes you is up to you. Unlike a compass that indicates which direction you are going, The Moving Forward Reframe-Work is meant to be the map with the coordinates required for you to appreciate the direction in which you want to go. It’s a process that forces you to write down the things that make you tick, the things that are important to you, and the things you want to accomplish or experience.
I often use the phrase “go deep”. It’s intended to encourage you to get beyond the superficial answers to the questions and dig deeper to know who you are. Just to be on same page, you have to do the work. The more you put into the framework, the more you will get out of it. This means you’ll need to intentionally create space and time in your life to be alone with no distractions.
If you are a thinker and a writer, grab a pen and paper or your laptop and start your process. If you are like me and need to be more active to wrestle with these questions, get a white board and go crazy (note, you can use a window in your house just make sure you use the right kind of marker), or go for a long walk.
Whatever your process is to get alone and go deep make it a consistent part of your life. No one is more interested in getting to know you better than you are so lay the guilty feelings aside and focus on yourself. Give yourself the freedom to understand how you best move through the world leaving a positive mark.
Give yourself the freedom to move forward.
