Nothing is stronger than habit. ~ Ovid, Roman poet (43 BC – 17 AD)

There are many obstacles in your life preventing you from moving forward. Habit is one of them. A Duke university study found that at least 45 percent of your waking behavior is habit. Almost half of what you do when you are awake is controlled by your unconscious mind.

Read that last sentence again. Think about that.

The MVG FWD Reframe-work uses six life categories to help you go deeper in self-awareness so you can move forward, faster. It’s a new habit of the mind that encourages you to stop and examine yourself closely in the present moment. To learn how to shift the gears from subconscious behavior to conscious behavior in an effort to know yourself more deeply. To orient your thoughts, decisions, and actions toward moving forward in every moment.

Thomas J. Leonard, founding father of professional life coaching, writes in his book The Portable Coach that “attitude conditions results”. Try this on for size: You will only move forward when you adopt the attitude that you are worth moving forward. Once you get it, you won’t want to stop, and you will quickly start identifying habits that are standing in your way.

Check in with yourself throughout the day and ask yourself:

M – motivation: do I know what is motivating my thoughts, decisions, and behavior?

V – values: am I living in line with my values or am I prioritizing my needs or wants?

G – gifts: am I using my super powers for the good of myself and others?

F – framing: do I need to reframe my perspective?

W – work: am I doing the work I committed to doing?

D – dream: am I caught up in a future result missing the opportunities in the present?
