Brown Wooden Gavel on Brown Wooden Table

Distinction: Discernment v. Judgment

During my morning mindset meditation I found myself pondering the difference between discernment and judgment. Here is what I uncovered.

DiscernmentJudgment
Discernment gives different weights to thingsJudgment uses two: good & bad
Discernment is continual, evolvingJudgment has a sense of finality to it
Discernment is pliable, open to new informationJudgment is rigid, resistant to new perspectives
Discernment is openJudgment creates polarization

Both are powerful tools when used correctly. Learn to discern more and judge less.

(unless you are a judge and then by all means judge away).
