Be Curious and Go Deep.

“Dig deep; the water – goodness – is down there. And as long as you keep digging, it will keep bubbling up.”  – Marcus Aurelius

It’s helpful to use mantras as easy to remember encouragements. One that is especially useful is the combination of two: Be Curious and Go Deep. The mantra is a reminder to move from knowing about yourself to knowing yourself by always staying curious (asking a lot of questions) and going deeper with them (ask yourself the hard questions).

Distinction: Know v. Know About. When you know something, it is because you have experienced it first-hand. To know about something does not require personal experience and is most often a result of external information.

How much of your identity do you know about versus how much of your identity do you know? As humans living together, we all learned to take cues from those around us. The danger is when these cues invade our self-identity. Be curious and go deep to fully KNOW who you are.
